The ALFA| Sevens are CFL/Usport Coached 7 on 7 Football teams which allow athletes to not only compete at a high level but to get high level skill development throughout the off season. The ALFA| Sevens are currently entered into 2 tournaments throughout 2024. The first tournament being on Feb 10 & 11 and the 2nd being in July. Teams will play in 25 minute, Tournament style games against other teams throughout the city of Calgary and the province of Alberta. Apart of the Champions League, we pride ourselves in offering a high quality team with high quality and engaging tournaments. Teams will be broken up onto 3 separate age divisions (U18 | U15 | U12).
The hope is that throughout the off season, we can identify Elite Athletes that would be willing and able to travel down to the U.S for Pylon Tournaments. The main focus from these Elite Travel teams is to be able to give these young athlete competition that they would not normally experience up here as well as give the, U.S exposure.
As ALFA| Sevens Fees only cover the games played in the tournament, we recommend that athletes couple this with our Fall and Winter off season training programs to get the most out of their off season. We would also like to note that The ALFA | Sevens will never impede with the athletes High School or Spring league football Season.
After registration, athletes will be broken up into 3 teams. Coached by CFL/ Usport Pros, U18 | U15 & U12 teams will be formed and will play in tournament style games against other teams in the city. with each team consisting of 10 -1 8 players, ALFA | Sevens teams will play against at least 3 teams in the tournament for the right to be named the #1 in the City.
